Butter
A bold, surreal satire exploring the violence of visibility politics and the societal pressures women face around body image and social acceptability. I was asked to Art Direct the initial visualizations for the Columbia Student Film Thesis, including logo development and conceptualization of film-world assets. Inspired by the spontaneous nature of a Dérive, our design system draws on American artisan traditions, which inform our bold geometry and regional symbolism, creating a visual language rooted in place.
